SYNOPSIS: “It’s not easy being a badass Zombie killer. But somebody’s got to do it.
Page Parker is unsatisfied with her post-apocalyptic life in the relative safety of the research station. She knows there’s something bigger out there for her. There’s something… more.
When “more” just happens to show up on her doorstep one night, she finally has the opportunity to find the purpose she’s been looking for. And the revenge.
But first she must convince her overprotective family that leaving their home and fighting an evil bigger than Zombies is the right thing to do. Except they don’t want to listen.
Until the fight follows them home. Until it destroys every semblance of peace and illusion of security they’ve worked so hard for.
They’re not safe anymore.
And until they kill Matthias Allen, Zombies are the least of their problems.
Love and Decay: Revolution is a Dystopian Romance Novella Series about Zombies, the end of the world and finding someone to share it with. Every episode is approximately 20,000 words long and released every two weeks.”
I received an electronic edition from the author, Rachel Higginson herself, in exchange for an honest review.
This episode starts of with a bang! More zombie fighting, more sexual tension and intensity!
Between the 1st and 2nd episodes there was a small break, and at first I was kind of confused. However I got my bearing in place, and I loved! I’ve got to admit the whole zombie on the roof thing was kind of weird, and I didn’t really know what to think. The way Rachel worked it into the story was amazing! The ‘zombie situation’ added a little something extra to show the characters vulnerability and that they are still human.
What I really loved this episode is that it wasn’t heavily based around fighting zombies. Obviously there is some fighting as it’s a zombie novel, but the majority of it was the group discussing personal matters and whether it was safe to stay. Honestly I loved reading this because it was as if they were living in the normal word, and I love the contrast between real and fantasy!
Can I just say that I love Miller! He seems to be perfect with and without Page, he’s so protective sweet but really badass and has a grumpy side when it’s necessary. I really hope their relationship evolves into something more soon, because I can’t stand the tension. It’s ripping my heart in half!
Overall I didn’t hate nor love this episode, I feel like it was a lead up to something great. I’m hoping the next will be more enticing and exciting, and I can’t wait to see where it leads!
